The "Legal Speak" rules really cover everything, but I'll do this in my language just to makes sure there aren't any issues. It's really very simple and takes little more than common sense to get the hang of it, so the Golden Rule of The Skull Board is:

By using or participating on the Skull Boards, you agree to the Rules of Conduct as stated below:
1. Profanity - I'm a little less picky about this than some other sites, but I do require that you use discretion in where you use profanity. As a general rule, if you are posting in a thread about a particular game, keep the language appropriate to the game. What is appropriate in a Grand Theft Auto thread will NOT be appropriate in Pokemon thread. See the Golden Rule of The Skull Board.
2. Respect - This board is here for EVERYONE, regardless of race, religion, gender, culture, sexual orientation or IQ. Differences of opinion are not only allowed, but welcome and respectful debate is perfectly acceptable. Flaming, trolling, harassing or verbally attacking other members will result in a ban of your membership. This is not IGN, I will not allow you to amass 30 bans over your Skull Board career. You get 3 bans. The third one is permanent. Get caught making an alt account to circumvent a ban and consider your ban instantly permanent. This isn't open for discussion.
3. WAREZ, illegal downloading and game cracks - Don't post it. Don't mention it. Don't allude to it or link to sources for it. You do what you want on your own time, but don't talk about it here. This includes requesting or passing info via PM. Links to websites that contain links to other websites that have it will be deleted as well. The same 3 ban policy is in effect for breaking this rule as well.
4. Spamming - Useless posts just aren't acceptable and spamming just to increase your post count doesn't do anything for you. I have more respect for a user with 10 intelligent posts than a user with 250 smiley posts. You know what it is, don't do it. I've also gone to the trouble to get you the smilies that you asked for. They are there for your enjoyment and the enjoyment of others, but they do use bandwidth which costs money. "smiley wars" "smiley spamming" and excessive posts consisting of nothing more than smilies will get you a hasty ban. This site is supported by the users. Do not disrespect them by abusing the board.
5. Off-topic posts - Let's face it, sometimes threads wander off into the wild blue yonder, and I'm ok with that as long as it doesn't get out of control or abusive and if the post started out as a question from a user, THE QUESTION WAS PROPERLY ANSWERED FIRST! Use good judgment here, but the final decision as to whether the thread has gone too far overboard remains that of myself and moderators assigned to that board.
6. System Wars - Respectful discussion of your opinions of the various consoles is welcome. Bashing is not. Make a valid point or don't post. Your opinion is yours and you are welcome to it, but be sure to show the same respect to the opinions of others. "*Insert Console Here* SUCKS!" is not a valid opinion, it is a childish cry for attention and will not be acknowledged.
7. Copyrighted Material - Skull Board users agree not to post any material that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right. This includes but is not limited to magazine, book and newspaper scans, television broadcasts and copyrighted photos and pictures. As the copyright holder of a LOT of material, violating this policy really pisses me off. Catch me on a bad day and this will be an instant permanent ban.
8. Altering Board Code - Altering or changing board code and/or exploiting code bugs for purposes other than what the message boards were intended to do is strictly prohibited. On a similar note, using automatic scripts on any part of CandiedSkull.com is also not permitted. Hacking, altering board code, exploiting code bugs and using scripts are all grounds for an immediate and permanent ban and reporting to your ISP.
9. Spoilers - Warn about spoilers . . .always, and as early in your post as possible. In the thread's subject is preferred.
10. Questionable content - This is a video game board, not a porn site. Keep it clean. At some point I will be adding a category for those over 18 only and a different set of rules will apply for that board, but on the main board, stick the rule that if you wouldn't show it to your mother, you can't show it on here.
11. Linking and Advertising - any link posted on your own site or anywhere forum board links are accepted is more than welcome, in fact the more you have, the happier I am. HOWEVER - CandiedSkull.com does NOT condone the spamming of other boards in order to attract membership. It is a low we will not sink to. We will not allow someone else to do it here and if you choose to go somewhere else and do it you will not receive support from CandiedSkull.com for having done so.
The Rules and Regulations as stated above are subject to change or alteration at any time by the board admin. Violations of these rules should be reported to the moderator for that particular board. If the response you get from the moderator is unacceptable to you, you may contact me by PM and explain your issue, but be warned, I am and will be hand picking my moderators and I pick them for a reason. The likelihood I will override their decisions is slim. Yelling, cussing and throwing insults at me will not help your cause. I'm funny that way. |
