The Slam Dunk Contest is starting now. Then theres also the skills challenge and the 3 point shootout. Tomorrow night is the actual All Star Game, but without Kobe Sad

The all-star weekend started off as good as it could when I found out David Robinson was going to be in it. He has been my favorite basketball player for the past 15yr's. So to see him do something like this in the NBA after being out for 5yr was a pretty sweet thing. Then when they were introducing the people and he got on of the best reactions it was just awesome.

So the shooting stars contest starts and of course I want the spurs to win. Do I think there going to win a shooting contest with 2 centers over 7feet on there team? Hell NO! I figured they were going to come in dead last. So after seeing my favorite player do horrible for the first shot I figured it was over right there. But HE of all people hits the shot from half court. They go on and win the damn thing. WIN IT WITH 2 GUYS THAT ARE 7 FEET. That is just insane.

Skills contest is next. Then it ended. Nice.

3 point contest was only good because the guy that won it last year won it this year and tied the record for most points in 1 round.

Slam Dunk contest had been very ehhhhhh and blah the past 4yr's or so I was just hoping something decent would happen.
And holy good god did it. Dwight Howard brought the dunk contest back in a HUGE way. 4 dunks all got the max of 50 points. The 4 dunks he did were just insane, very few people can do the dunks he did, it was like the year Vince Carter stole the show.

So over all I would give the all-star saturday a grade of A.
David Robinson being there. His team winning and him making a half court shot.
A record in the skills challenge
A record tied in the 3 point contest
And one of the best dunk contest EVER.
I missed all-star weekend last year, good god im glad I didnt miss it this year. I look forward to next years now.

The Dunk Contest was the craziest thing I've seen ever! I think he did better then Vince Carter did. I'll be at work for the AS Game tonight though!! Mad I'll get home at like 10:15, it ends at 11, so I'll see some if it. Is Kobe playing in the actual game? Because I know he dropped out of the 3 point competition

League rule says he HAS to play in the game.
Dont count on him playing to much though.

They say if he can play the last game before the all-star weekend and the first game after it, he HAS to play in the game.

Oh really? I didn't know that. He got in for 3 minutes and got no points and a rebound. Thats a cool rule though, make sure everybody gets to play.
