Well, as I said in my XBL message to you, this was a game I couldn't get into. I'm one of the few though... most people think it is a masterpiece.
I only played it for an hour or so, but I just didn't have the desire to ever go back to it. Not really sure why... I have to be in the mood to play an FPS and maybe I just wasn't in the mood at the time.
I'll probably go back to it eventually, but right now it's sitting on my shelf unplayed since the day of release. _________________

I'm sure you could do it in one runthrough, but I would suggest taking it in two runthroughs. Here's how I did it:
Play through it once on Normal, rescuing every little sister and getting all the weapon upgrades. The vast majority of the other achievements are incredibly simple, you'll get most of them just by continuing through the game. I got the Tonic Collector achievement as I progressed, given that I explored virtually everything I could, but from what I understand, it's one that a lot of people miss. If you don't get it in this playthrough, you could just get it on a second playthrough using a guide.
Then play it on Hard, killing the little sisters (killing gives you more Eve, and you need that way more on Hard), getting the audiotapes, and never dying.
You could technically play through on Hard and try for everything, but you'd need a good audiotape guide, and BioShock is really a game that you'll want to play through without having to consult a guide or anything. If it sucks you in, that is.
It's a pretty straightforward game, and I really enjoyed it. After the first playthrough, it does lose quite a bit of luster. Beating it without dying isn't as hard as it sounds, just try not to fight many Big Daddies and save a lot.
Oh, and take a ton of pictures. Research FTW! _________________

Like llama, I couldn't get into it either, but I'm very much a purist when it comes to my FPS's. I need realism and not that magical fairy crap with the spells and potions. |
Nah, it's not hard. It can definitely be annoying at times, but you can save anywhere, so as long as you save often, it's just a matter of trucking through each level and being resourceful with your saves. _________________
