Yo punks. I need to get an external hard drive for my music, because more than 50GBs of my laptop's memory holds music... and I only have 70GBs. It's an old laptop. So... I am down to like 400MBs lol.

I know pretty much next to nothing about external hard drives, except it'll probably run me around $100. I don't need a terabyte or anything ridiculous sized, though. So is there like a specific brand or something I should keep my eye out for when I (hopefully) swing by Best Buy on Tuesday if the blizzard doesn't fuck everything on the coast for me?

Look into Western Digital. I've had mine for a while.
Half a TB, holds all of my music. I'm nearing 100GB right now, so I might actually look into something bigger.
Very reliable.

The Western Digital is indeed a quality piece of equipment. I've knocked it over while it was running, dropped it, kicked it . . . . it keeps on going. I have the 500GB model as well thinking the exact same thing you are but I'm now kinda kicking myself for not getting the Terabyte. Between the movies I have in there, music, several complete backups of my laptop hard drive and folders of CandiedSkull website files from various stages of the growth of the site. I have had my 500 filled and had to cave in and delets stuff [AKA: Burn all my porn on to DVD's} If I had it all to do over again, I'd do the terabytes.

I waited until I got my tax returns back, and lucky for me, Best Buy is having a sale on external hard drives this week. Picked up a 1TB Western Digital for $99.99. Ten bucks more expensive than the 500GB, so I figured what the heck.

I like it, it's very very cool. And now my laptop can breathe again! Dancing
