Candied Skull Publication, LLC and candiedskull.com are looking for an official logo or "mascot" to represent the Candied Skull name. Use your skills with the graphics program of your choice to create a logo and mascot for us and win a $50 Gift Card to your choice of BestBuy, Circuit City, GameStop or WalMart. (If the winner is from outside of the US, a gift card equivalent to $50 USD for a retailer native to your country will be awarded)
Entries must meet the following requirements to be considered:
1. The entry must be 100% ORIGINAL! Images taken from the web may not be used in whole or in part to create your final product. Draw using Adobe Illustrator, Xarax or any other graphics program you can draw with, I am not particular, as long as the final format of the image is something I can open with most standard graphics programs. (jpg, bmp, png, gif, psd) If the graphic is put together using layers, please send the entry in its layered format (psd, if using Illustrator or Photoshop).
2. The image must be NO SMALLER than 1024x768. The bigger the image is, the better. A larger image allows me to create banners, titles, etc by shrinking the image to fit its purpose. Enlarging an image is a miserable task and generally results in poor quality.
3. The image must portray Candied Skull and Candied Skull's general purpose. Feel free to use our motto "The imagination is a sweet place!" in your image, or keep it in mind while designing your image. candiedskull.com is largely a site designed for gaming information, and while other venues are occasionally visited, gaming is the main focus. We are not specific nor biased toward XBox, Playstation, Nintendo or any other platform, so please do not bias the image in any of those directions either.
4. While a skull is not generally identified as a "light hearted" icon in and of itself, we would like to steer away from any skull images being depicted in a gruesome manner. Of course, we would appreciate a skull being used in your image, we would like to keep it in a light hearted tone, or at the very least, a "cool" tone. Just be sure to draw the image yourself and not borrow images from the web.
5. Send your image in drawn from more than one angle. Variety will greatly influence the final decision.
6. Please include the font file for any non-standard fonts used in creating your logo or image.
The requirements at this time are very few but are subject to change at any time between now and the official end of the contest (A date will be determined pending peak participation, but no later than June 30th, 2007).
